Thanks to Gerry and Alex for running the trip, I really had a good time. Good to see some old faces and some new ones as well. The bite for me sucked at best, I only had a few GOOD bites. Oh well! Nice job to Wilson for the photos although I didn't know he is Murrdog's personal photographer, way to really glam it up Joe

Kurt,

I purchased rod and stripped and rewrapped rod to present to LAB this year as a Thank you for all the work he did in putting the PUOSU trips together.
It reminded me of rod he fished that he called GRANDMA. It was intended for him to use fluke fishing. It is all fiberglass blank that has a deep bend all the way to reel seat and does not shut off. total length is 7'10" I personally fish very soft tip rods with lots of bend but would not consider it a tog Rod

Thanks for the reply Alex. I changed my email address in my profile and got locked out for a little while. Gerry fixed it.
Guess I'll have to wait until next year to try it out. It is a beauty.

Any recommendations for a matching reel?

I won Tropics rigs, a Pride gift certificate and most importantly the beautiful Grandma rod. The rod will remind me of Mike every time I fish with it.

Thumbs up Re: PUOSU Prelim Trip Results

I have a spot on a Monger charter next Sunday. I plan to talk to the charter master, Greg V, and see if it is ok for me to bow out, so I can fish this trip.

Just a word of warning, I fished the Mimi 4 times last year on every one of those trips time I only caught one keeper. But 3 out of 4 trips I won the pool. I lost the pool on the first trip because I was dumb enough to bleed my fish!
