Back of Raritan Bay - exploratory trip
Fished with Jeff and son Andrew aboard Grateful Dad - an appropriately named Father's Day vessel Only had a brief window this morning so explored the local haunts. Got first keeper just outside Keyport sailboats. Got second on S.Amboy flats. Got numbers 3 and 4 on channel edges in Triangle. Good to see some life in the back. All fish taken on bait, 2 of them on Wonder Rig Thanks Jeff - Happy Father's Day all !

Re: Back of Raritan Bay - exploratory trip
There’s been life further west from where you fished since the opener.
Was out tonight and got a keeper before we left the slip. You know which boat I like to hit up for magic hours. Bait has been the way to go but dropped a real nice fish while getting jiggy. Fish hit like a freight train and bent the rod right over, made two big head shakes and before I could turn the handle it was gone. |

Re: Back of Raritan Bay - exploratory trip
Thanks for posting, Larry, you beat me to it. It's always nice to have some action in our own backyard, we could've done better if we had more of a drift.
But, it was still a great day on the water. And, thanks for the beer!!
