Default No fish, still a good morning.

I went over to Lopatcong Creek this morning. Got there at 5am and as soon as the light came up I could see the rainbows everywhere. They were jumping and everything. I need to practice my casting and there was just too much overhanging branches for me to cast upstream. I ended up snagging and losing 3 lures. That sucked. I definitely made too much noise and i think i just scared them. I'll do better next time. Sunday morning I'm taking my 4 year old fishing at a local pond. Pan fish will be much easier lol.

You have to sneak up on them in that stream. Beautiful wild browns in the bottom section. Wear dark or camo clothes too!

Try not to leave lures and line in the trees, it wreaks havoc with the birds.

Not sure if this is much help but for me, the trout have been liking very small, slow swimming lures. Simple stuff like curly tails. Those mister twister lil bits, the 1 inch ones, on ultra light jigs have worked well. Any color they seem not to mind too, white, pumpkin, black, orange, have caught me multiple fish

Try to perfect a low fast sidearm cast, it will help you put the lure under the overhanging branches with some velocity. After a while, you'll get better at getting them off branches. Wait for the lure to backswing and then a quick jerk often works.
