Thumbs up Thanks for the advice!! Inlet report

First off, thanks to all who gave me advice on fishing for stripers. Went out today and started at the first inlet I had planned to hit, morning plans changed but I got there at 1 pm. Tons of people were there, saw lots of catching too. Lots of short flukes and sundials, a few stripers, tog and blues too. I started throwing the deadly dick and quickly hooked up with a fish which I then lost. Stuck with it and caught a hickory shad, my first one! Fished the entire area until 3:30 without catching anything else. Moved on to the next spot.

Got to inlet #2, lots of people again but unlike the previous inlet not a lot of catching. I fished through sunset and after dark hooked up with my first ever striped bass! Around 3-4 pounds, caught on a 4in swim shad. Thanks again for all the advice!! I’m hooked now. Christmas is coming, hope my stocking is stuffed with sp minnows, bombers and diamond jigs..... tight lines!!!

Kudos on your first striper...its all about putting time in, and while you are doing that, watching the guys that are catching.. No rocket science.. just time and observation, and making adjustments as needed.. Goes for any type of fishing..

Its interesting but not surprising really that fluke are still around and still active.. I have seen them caught in January on blackfish boats... bob

Thanks! And if parking wasn't free then I got lucky! I think it is free this late into the year though.
