I just signed up for a February trip, hoping they start putting some catches together though.

Might want to check Noreast.com reports.. The montauk and RI boats are doing very poorly so far--, so as always, you pay the fare, and hope for the best..

Last few years they have had pretty good shots at Block island but only for a limited time, and then it died out.. Its not like the old days thats for sure... I wish you guys the best of luck on the trip.. You're a tougher dude than I am...
You'll be at the rail fishing, and I'll be throwing a stick in the wood stove, THINKING about being at the rail... bob

For every great winter Block trip I've had, I have also had a mediocre to stinker trip. It is really a coin flip as those fish do not bite well every day.

they are just passing thru and not resident fish.we had some great trips last year and some decent but we always had fish.like i said before having decent weather is the key.the ic fleet was catching them before these storms started coming thru.i know one thing for sure,i won't catch any if i don't try.

J2 is doing a 3am cod trip Saturday. You'll probably have a better chance of catching and it will be a lot cheaper.
