What is best solution to clean a rod??????

Mild soap and water then a coat of wax .

Yep but rather then wax the traditional way, spray the rod and reel down with water, spray on this stuff https://www.turtlewax.com/shop/produ...y-wax-26-fl-oz , towel dry and you're done.

Good for your reels too and gives some added protection

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser cleans up cork handles pretty good also.
