Default Boat Marinas

Hey NJFISING! I hope all is well, it's been a while since I been on the water with responsibilities of raising a family, but I have finally picked up a 22' SeaHawk Pilot House (I will post picks soon) and shopping around for dock slips in Sandy Hook area.

I used to always launch my boat from Atlantic Highlands launch, but so far I'm considering Leonardo's, Monmouth, Cove Marina or Atlantic highlands. If you have any suggestions or info please let me know. I'm obviously more concerned about fishing then anything else.

Thanks!

I have been with Monmouth Cove for 15 years. great marina. The marina is mostly about fishing. Not much in the way of services, but a good secure marina. They have an overpriced fuel dock.

Thanks Flygaff!! I'm mostly interested in fishing, how's the beach that's attached to it? Also, what else would Leonardo or Atlantic Highlands offer besides being harassed by fish -n- game every weekend :-)

I think Leonardo might have some slips left but not on the floating docks.

Marina just got new bathrooms and showers this past spring and the channel leading into the marina got dredged so not an issue getting in or out at low tide any more.

Fish and game does keep a boat there so expected to be inspected.

There is a 24 hour guard that walks all the slips every few hours so things are relatively safe and clean and if they see an issue with your boat you'll get a call.

There is a public beach on either side of the marina entrance.

Fairly quiet compared to others so if your looking for a social/party atmosphere, look elsewhere.

Sea Tow's old location off the Shrewsbury River buoy #11 between Bakers and Wind and Sea is all floating docks and is nothing but fisherman. Good people too.

Thanks for all your input. I reserved at Atlantic Highlands. I really liked Monmouth Cove but I think Atlantic Highlands is a better fit for kids/wife plus it's a lot cheaper for the fixed docks.

Can't wait to launch!!
