Bay or Ocean
Heading out of Rumson Ramp tomorrow for some fluke fishing in the Sandy Hook area. I now the reports have been saying things are slow in the bay. Any thoughts on a general area to fish be it ocean or bay. Any help appreciated.

Re: Bay or Ocean
Drifting conditions usually dictate the best place to fish at any given day or time. Having said that, the fish are apparently not in the channels or deeper water right now in the Sandy Hook area...
If I were you I'd be looking at places no deeper then 20 feet or so and where you'd have the most favorable conditions for a good drift... See the Fluke Drifting Tips post for more info on that

Re: Bay or Ocean
If your leaving from Rumson...Fish the Navesink or Shrewsbury rivers. That's were they go, that's were they are.....Bet your A** if I could fish there I would! The Bay has been horrible so far, why waste the fuel.
