Default Mojo's

I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times but what size tandem mojos do you guys use in the raritan bay?

Thanks.

16 to 20 ounces set ups are a good general place to start... A 4 ounce on top rig and a 12 or 16 on the bottom. If you need to make it run shallower or deeper simply let out or take in line.

Trolling braid is practically a must here since the smaller line diameter cuts through the water better and allows you to use less weight to stay near the bottom.

Best way to fish them is to troll on the slow side, between 2.5 and 3 knots. Let out enough scope so you feel constant contact with the bottom and then reel in a few cranks to get them running just off the bottom.

They were the hot ticket for Stipers last fall in Raritan Bay.

PS... I haven't tried it but some guys are running bunker spoons on the top rig instead of the 4 ounce mojo. Great way to keep a spoon running close to the bottom..
