Default Inexperienced individuals --Charter individual or large party boat?

Hi, I am planning as a birthday gift a fishing trip for about 6 people. Of those maybe 1-2 has ever been deep sea fishing. Would you recommend chartering a smaller boat to have the more one-on-one or is a larger boat with other people part of the experience? Looking to go out of Pt. Pleasant.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Definitely go charter. They'll make sure you catch fish and show you how to do it. On the party boats, the mate(s) are usually to busy taking care of everyone to give personalized attention.

It will be a bit more expensive, but a much better overall experience.

Don't matter. Just make sure those inexperienced people take their seasick pills.
