I turn 60 that very same year & I'm looking into all the options like yourself. I want to do a fishing trip of a Lifetime. Keep me in the loop let me know what you plan. I know these types of trips you got to plan way in advance.

Some of these trips range from a few days to 2 weeks.
Never been on a long range, but I have fished in San Diego on 24-30 hour trips for yellowtail, tuna etc.

I'd hit one of those long range trips out of San Diego. Tons of boats to choose from and lots of species to fish for in one trip.

I did Costa Rica, it was nice. I did Alaska Totally loved it so much I'm going back in the summer of 2011. 2012 I'm looking to do Panama, I've heard so many wondeful things about Panama and its a little costly. So I'd have to choose Panama.

Panama, Guatemala, Alaska, Cabo LR, Costa Rica, & Fla Keys all offer varied fihing opportunaties ,guess it all depends on what you prefer . I've done them all and have preferances for each location, the best ones I've been back to several times over the years.
If I were to choose today Panama , AL, GUAT.

I have done the Alaska trip and that was Awesome. Out of the Central Amaerca location you mentioned Panama I believe is the most productive. Several good outfitters and several not so good. I have been invited over thae last two years to do trips there. I may consider putting one of these trips together withen the next year or two as I have a few friends that are very well conected in Panama
