Default Catch Shares For Bluefin Tuna

I found out through Dave Marciano from Gloucester that during the scoping meetings for bluefin tuna and other palegics that the government is considering imposing catch shares on Bluefin Tuna. I intend to attend the meeting in Portland, ME as I could not attend the one in Gloucester. Here is the article from the Gloucester Times this AM and this is just another idea by this administration to stop us all from fishing. If this goes through, you will see it for sea bass, fluke, cod, striped bass, bluefish etc. As an example, Dave had 20 years of fishing history for cod and haddock in the Gulf of Maine and did not receive enough allocation to make ends meet with his boat. Think of how many tuna a season you will be allocated if passed and it is the back door approach to stop us from tuna fishing after the eco's could not get a CITES listing.

Default Re: Catch Shares For Bluefin Tuna

Here is the scoping document announcement and it looks like there was another meeting on May 8th in Tom's River, NJ with another one coming up in the city. Did anyone attend the one in Tom's River by chance and what was the turn out?
