If you are doing 1 rod and reel good luck. It pays to have a backup because of breakoffs. If you have 50 lb braid have a shocker of 40 lb at the end. If you do get hung up the 40 will snap and you don't loose your line in a spot where you don't have enough to hit bottom. Worse comes to worse you can always rent a rod. In my book it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
