Otter Tails

So in my quest to find the next best fluke bait i came across these things called Otter Tails. They look like the tail end of a gulp. Come in straight or curly in a few different sizes. I picked up a few jars of em in different colors and sizes. Anyone ever fish them? Any luck? I think they would work well on the top teaser.

I got them at NS tackle store in Egg Harbor. The price was about the same as a bag of gulp.

I just a matter of time before a company comes up with a good knock off of Gulp. I hope the people at Berkeley are reading all the complaints about there new formula and how it gets destroyed after only a few fish and go back to making it tougher like it use to be. Thanks for the info.

Highly unlikely that will happen,
They made it softer due to complaints it was too hard to get of the hook and fish were not holding onto it.

So now its softer, sales are higher due to needing more bait to get through a day.

But the new bait also works better, the stuff out this year holds 400 times more scent than the previous stuff, and fish are tearing it up because they are holding onto it longer.

Yeah i have no complaints about gulp.. Just saw these in the shop and wanted to give them a shot. They feel tougher then gulp. So its going to hold up to the bites.

I picked up several jars of Otter Tails at one of the outdoor shows last winter.

Gave them more than fair chance my first few fluke trips this season. In fact on 2 trips I didn't even bring GULP to give them a fair chance.

Let's just say I wasn't overly impressed.

I bought Otter Tails in yellow, pink and white (both sizes) at Jigging World. I believe these were marketed as a replacement for the discontinued Uncle Josh's pork rind. Tried them several times with no luck as of yet. :(
