How big was that yellow perch? In my 70 years, I've caught a lot of big perch, particularly through the ice.
But I don't think I've ever seen one that big.
Did it come from a NJ lake?

Fish was measured at 14.5", caught from the P River a few weeks ago. I didn't think the picture did it any justice!

My three most memorable fish of 2013 #1. is a small mouth from Spruce Run Creek Memorable because I was targeting trout and caught it on an ultra-light trout rod. #2 Brown trout caught in Coopalong Creek, a stream that is not stocked with brown trout. [ That was the second brown that I caught in that location last spring.] and #3 not a freshwater fish but a 163 pound halibut, the largest fish I have ever caught.

Did a fair amount of freshwater this year and had a blast. Its great to be able to get out for a couple hours after work in the summer. This bass was one of many it was my PB LMB. Didn't get a weight on it but it was a blast. Hoping to up the ante this spring.

I'm going to post one fresh and one salt. The first is my 21 lb Big D flathead. I don't have a pic unfortunately, just this short video:

And next is a 37" striper I got out of Sandy hook bay:

All in all it was awesome year of fishing and I can't wait until it warms up.

We took our 1st family trip together to the poconos this fall and I re-discovered freshwater fishing. Turns out my wife loves catching sunnies and small perch(bait fishing for me basically). My son loves sitting in his stroller and watching and playing with them then waving bye bye, he is still too small to do it on his own, but really soon. The pickerel was caught using a perch my wife caught, then released. I wouldn’t let my son put his finger near this one. i got a kayak this winter and cant wait to get out on the passaic and raritan bay. tight lines to all!
