South Branch Bass
Got in some fishing with my Grandson (7) before all the rain. Started him out on a bobber and pink power worms for Sunnies to keep him interested and I fished a Ned Rig. As soon as he saw me reel in a few Smallies he had to have a ned too. I was a little apprehensive since you really had to cast the Ned in the right spot and work it so it didn't get hung up in the rocks. Well he got snagged alright and I was working to get it out I gave him my pole. I turn around a minute later and saw him land a nice Largemouth all by himself. Proud Pop Pop moment right there!
I just love how enthused he is about fishing! He really wants a Striped Bass. It's all he talks about since there is one on my wall (Walter) I've told him many stories about. I think he's ready this year and can't wait to see his face light up when the drag starts screaming. |

Re: South Branch Bass
Well our Grandson Hudson is ofishally obsessed with fishing. After he got home from the South Branch he asked his Mom and Dad to get him another fishing pole that he could keep with him wherever he goes. Looks like his Mom and Dad are going to be spending a lot of time with him at the pond in their neighborhood. He got the pole yesterday and has 3 Sunnies under his belt and has all the neighborhood kids fishing too..
So cool to see kids so into this great sport of ours! Take a kid fishing, it's the gift that keep on giving! |
