I have the 2-3-4 ounce do-it bulletnose mold. I can use Mustad 32786 bln hooks or Gamakatsu octopus hooks. My powderpaint colors are a little low right now. I have pink, yellow, white, green, and glow. No chartreuse glow, and I don't usually mess around with 2-tone paint jobs. I would prefer a sponsor help you but I don't think any of them have that head design. I also have butterbeans and submariners which nobody else to my knowledge uses. If you want me to do this we'll have to decide on a fair price and I can ship to you or you can pick them up.

I agree with you on the hooks always being too big for fluke. Thats why we worked with OMT to design jigs with smaller hooks, such as the black Gami used on jigs from 1/4oz up to 16ozs. I will ask Jerry if he does bullet heads. May be able to get them done. What sizes you looking for?

Sorry for the delay...spent the weekend in Maryland doing the baseball thing with the kid. :) Using the phone to reply is tough.

Heres my thoughts on the bullet head, as I replied to the PM. I believe the center of gravity, along with the shape, create a better action than ball heads or longer heads that connect from the front. Having the connection on top in the center seems to offer more of a life like action. I swim most of the jigs I sell in my pool, to see how they act. ( wife is not crazy about it, but oh well. )

The bullet head and Spro style heads are my 2 favorites. Both of them cut the water better, swim better and both allow for use of a lighter jig, compared to other styles. Jig makers such as OMT ( who is our favorite maker) take the Spro style / Guppy heads to another level with the paint schemes they offer. Some of Jerry's work looks so much like the real thing, I hate to fish them and want to just display them like the surf guys do with their plugs. :D

IMHO, theres no doubt the bullet and spro style heads out perform other styles. Now......add the right size hook and we have a deadly combination. As I said, OMT was the only jig maker who worked with us using smaller, thinner hooks in bigger heads. Manufacturers such as Spro, have something like a 8/0 hook in their 6oz jigs. Requiring a stinger hook, or another home made contraption to fish for fluke or sea bass. Sure, we all get lucky and gaff fish with these larger hooks, but that smaller hook in the heavier sizes has proven deadly over the last 2 years that OMT has been making them for us. Its just common sense and it works! ;)

I am waiting to see if the bullet head is available from OMT. I will let you know once I hear back. They are checking to see if its something we can do. If not, the spro/guppy head ( pictured on the Ambrose Special) is my other choice for this action and ability to use lighter weights with smaller hooks.

Here is the Ambrose Jig with the Spro/Guppy Head
