Yes its true.... team LabRat is reunited again, but for how long is anyones guess :D ......
Well the Jig is up as our super secret spot is out there for all to see ....lol.....
Got a late start on purpose as the outgoing has been very good to us and up until yesterday we had caught very few fish on the incoming... but the last 2 days have been totally different....we had a somewhat steady pick through out the late morning early afternoon with big bay flunnders caught both on plain clam, plain worm and ham and eggs..... Rat was on fire early and most def got puller of the day award.... I get the jackass of the day award by bouncing my cell phone off the gunnel and into the drink....... And my Lab well he was the comic relief as usual.....
We finished up the day with 28 NICE flunndies in the livewell with 2 shorts, numerous misses and a few boat swingers that didnt make it over the rail....
Got to see Fudd and Pinky, Capt Charm and his crew... was even buzzed twice by a super stud striper expert ......
and yes Jr..... there ARE those who know and those who think they know...

I trade blackfish to my local chinese restaurant and they give me back general tsao style blackfish, lo mein, and other stuff. They keep some to themselves. I have no clue what they do with it. Does that make me some sort of illegal trader as well? The people who run the restaurant can arguably be called my friends because I go there all the time.
I'm against most commercial fishing as well, specifically dragging. Trading extra fish for food or dry cleaning or whatever hardly equates to destroying vast portions of the ocean floor by dragging a net across it.
(Not saying you are the type of commercial fisherman who does that BTW, I don't know you) Some commercial fisherman are very respectful of the ocean in fact and I admire them. But a few rancid apples can definately spoil a bushel.

People should be able to do what ever they want with there catch hell there paying enough to catch these fish. And i dont see lab dropping roller nets destoying our ocean so i would not even go there.

Great Trip guys. Anyone who legally catches fish has the right to do give them to anyone they want. Nice catch and remember it is about the catch not the keep.

and nobody speeds and every dollar in tips we make gets declared.
There are bigger battles to fight. Enjoy your General Tso's - you don't need to justify anything.
How about a new Law and Order "Illegal Fish Swapping Unit"
03-31-2008, 08:27 PM
Enough. You guys love each other now stop the BS.

If someone keeps their catch and it's within the bag limits, they can barter for goods or services and not be breaking the law. It's when the bag limits or fish sizes or seasons are not adhered to that the law is being broken. What is wrong with giving someone say 15 flounder fillets and getting some food in return?
Getting a bit testy over next to nothing on this topic the way I see it.

nice haul you got to love a bow monkey that knows his place
03-31-2008, 08:51 PM
If you adhere to all to the rules you're allowed to whatever you want with a legally caught fish.
Would you rather he kept all his fish and stored then in the back of his freezer for a year, have them become freezer burned then throw them out.....now that would be a waste of the resource.
LAB, what boat does this guy mate on (you can PM if you don't want to make it public)? If it's a boat that I fish on (and I think it might be) I might just boycott it as well.

Technically can't sell or barter your fish. Stupid, foolish rule, but it is the law.
It's like posting that you had to drive 85mph on the GSP to get to the boat in time. It's publically announcing you broke the law :p

I drove 85 mph to get to the boat in time.

You law breaker you. An outlaw that should be hunted down. Speeding burns more gasoline so you're killing our planet. What happens if you lose control and kill a bus load of children??? You're unhuman!!! Reckless and endangering others around you!!!
Get the wood and build the stake, it's time to burn some criminals!!!:p
